When God Has Left the Building : The Rise and Fall of a Fictional Therapeutic Boarding School for At-Risk Teenagers

Description

It began over 30 years ago as an informal weekly Bible study group for teenagers that met in a private home. But the group eventually morphed into a multi-million dollar therapeutic boarding school for at-risk teenagers run by Sophie and Gino Barberetti and the two hundred staff members they hired throughout the years. God was the school's main focus as staff members worked together to help hundreds of young people overcome their addictions, their anger, and their pain. Broken families were mended. It thrived for many years and saved numerous lives. Then our country began going through several changes, and in time those changes affected the school. A nationwide recession crushed everyone and enrollment dropped dramatically. Government agencies eventually impacted the overall mission of the school, and God was slowly removed. The spiritual level of the school deteriorated, and with that went the morale of the staff members. The end, although inevitable, came as a shock nonetheless.
